About Lovie

Community

The company came out of a room, and the room is still open.

Most weeks the house fills up with the founders we build for. That is not an event programme — it is how we find out what is actually broken.

The format is not complicated. People come over. Whoever wants the screen takes it and shows what they shipped that week. Somebody in the room has already hit the problem they are describing and says so. There is food. It runs late.

What makes it worth protecting is the part that is uncomfortable: people say what did not work. A founder demoing something half-finished in a living room will tell you the true version, which is not the version you get from a survey or a support ticket. Several things on this site exist because of a sentence said in that room, and at least one thing we were proud of got cut for the same reason.

Nobody is invited because of who they know. If you are building something and you are in San Francisco, you are already qualified.
